Day Trip.

California Hardwoods . . . Our new
very bestest friends.
My peeps and I made a little day trip
over to Auburn, California, 109 miles
away from Reno. To begin with, the drive
was absolutely BREATHTAKING!
The streams, the clouds, the snow, the
trees, the streams, the rivers, the lakes,
the gorgeous mountain homes . . .
Secondly, the company was terrific!
It was GREAT to be trapped in a car
for four straight hours with my
favorite husband. We held hands all
the way there and all the way back!!
We have been so busy that we barely
have time to high five each other!
We met THE MOST amazing people
at California Hardwoods!!! They love
people, new homes, and wood!! We were
in business!! Dave, the owner-man, talked
to us THREE STRAIGHT HOURS about
our new home project and gave us way
too many amazing ideas!!!!
We purchased ALL OF THE wood flooring
for our new home. HICKORY!!!!!
We are having HICKORY flooring throughout
the ENTIRE house!!!
The floors are unfinished and will need
to be installed, filled, sanded, and have
this awesome tongue-oil put on them.
Our hickory floors will last 100 years
and will not show dog claw marks or
anything thanks to this new unbelievable
magic product that Dave sold us to
have put on our new floors.
You guessed it . . . We will be purchasing
our mantel piece from Dave.
Dave also had reclaimed barn wood . . .
Some of those are going on our ceilings
in our great room and kitchen!!!
We are so thankful that God has been
blessing us during this house building
project. It has truly been so much fun!!!
NO ONE is building during these times,
as it is so cheap to purchase an existing
home. We are grateful to the wonderful
workers and prices that He has given us!!!!
Here's . . . DAVE and Derrick!!!!
They will be driving a ton of this
to our new home later this summer!
The wood has to sit in the garage for
a while before it is laid, so it can
adjust to the environment and temps!
We had a fun little stop at Mel's Diner
on our way home!!!
Luke was sorry that we spent all
of our cash on flooring . . .
