DMV Fun!

It is so hard to believe, but my
Sam got his LEARNER'S PERMIT
today . . .
After listening while two older
brothers learned to drive in the
car with me, Sam knows what
is in store for him!!!!
Somebody please tell me exactly
where the time goes!!!
15 1/2, surely that cannot be true!!
I am so proud of my Sam and am
glad that he has achieved yet
another milestone!

Whirlwind.

Yes, that's right! It has been a whirlwind
around here lately!! We have been busy:
*building our new home
*my internship
*golf practice
*golf matches
*reading
*writing
*homeschooling
*merit badges
*picking out faucets
*picking out granite
*choosing wood
for our cabinets
*dishes
*laundry
*chores
*church
*merit badge college
*boy scouts
*I could go on and on
and on, but . . .
I am thankful that God
allows us to do so many
things! We are blessed
beyond measure and thankful
for a supportive family,
enabling us to accomplish
all of the tasks that must
get done each day!!!

On the Range . . .

Spent most of my day here as
my #3 had a golf tournament
ALL day long!! High schoolers
all around Reno and the surrounding
areas made their way to Somersett
to walk that long and hilly
golf course! They were tired
afterwards, a little wind blown,
but everyone had a great time!!

More golf in store tomorrow!
(Love that sport! Maybe in my old
age I will have time to learn to play!)

Happy Resurrection Day!

Celebrating family holidays are so
much fun!! Easter happens to be
one of my most favorite days of
the entire year.
The whole week is spent thinking
about the price that my Jesus paid
for me!
Even though the Easter baskets, bunnies,
and Peeps are a fun part of the
CELEBRATION . . .
it is truly not the reason why
we celebrate this special day!
Even though the boys are getting
older . . . no matter how old they
get . . . they still look forward to
their Easter baskets!!
I love the memories that we have
made celebrating special days
like today!!
The boys have been on a white
chocolate craze lately and love
white chocolate chip macadamia
nut cookies . . . The mixer has
been whipping up batch after
batch of them lately.
After church we celebrated with a
huge feast including: spiral ham, two
types of homemade rolls, grilled
asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes,
and a huge salad.
I truly cannot believe that we
do not have a little one that
actually believes in the Easter
bunny anymore . . . Where did those
precious years go?
Happy, Happy, Resurrection Day!!

Yummy, Yummy!

Oooh la la!! Our MILE HIGH APPLE PIE
just came out of the oven! We are
busy preparing for our Easter
dinner tomorrow night! Everyone
has their favorites: ham, turkey,
mashed potatoes, gravy, asparagus,
cranberry salad . . .
Any holiday would not be complete
without Gram's pecan rolls. As
soon as we roll in from church
tomorrow, the rolls will be made
and ready for Easter dinner.

Loving the resurrection!

PIE UPDATE: That Mile High
creation looked so delish, we
just could not wait! We all
looked at each other, grabbed
the vanilla bean ice cream and
that was all she wrote.

We did same a nice big slice
for Grampa for tomorrow and
some for the Easter bunny.

Action . . . Gotta.Love.It!

Oh, yeah! You KNOW that I love action.
We definitely have action at
2485 Mountain Spirit Court.
Today they poured one of the garages.
Woo hoo! Floor joists are now in place
above the crawl space ready for plumbing,
heating, and our new boiler system.
In the South Forty they are working
hard to build the walls for our new home!
For a girl who loves to see action.
We are now in the thick of it!!!
It is exciting to see how the house
project changes from day to day.
The first floor is well underway!
These garages and workshop will get
poured next week!!! You know how
we love to see those cement mixers
winding up the hill!!!
Our inspector . . . giving the final
approval . . . Everything looked
a-okay!
"And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose."

It's Here!

I think we are ready to start crackin'!
Our lumber arrived from the lumber
mill in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This
is the first load, with more to come.
It makes a girls heart jump to see all
of this beautiful wood, just knowing
that it will soon turn into bedrooms,
a great room, and a kitchen.
And oh, oh, oh, did I mention the
awesome grandkid's playroom?
Or the beautiful laundry room?
Or my private office?
Yep, we will soon be able to
see all of that when the straps
on this lumber are broken and
the guys get hustlin'!
Alberto is busy, busy, busy, backfilling
and compacting the dirt for the garage
areas. Mike is so excited for his workshop!!
(Do men get just as excited about such
things as girlie girls do over kitchens? I
definitely think so!)
I am still excited about the deer, the
train whistling, and birds chirping at
2485 Mountain Spirit Court.
Soon, perhaps today, the fellas will
start putting the "floor" on so that walls
can be put up! I do not know if I am
emotionally ready to see the walls
begin to form and stand up . . . It is a
pretty exciting process and seems like
a barn raising that takes place all at
once, right before your very eyes!!!!
Our Alberto . . . how we love seeing him
run that tractor around, getting ready for
exciting things like concrete, and nail guns,
and cutting lumber . . . oh, my!

Special Week.

I love Easter week. The activities, preparations,
candy, bunnies, and colored eggs are all
exciting and fun; but remembering what
my Savior did for me is more than I can
even comprehend.

As Easter week comes upon me, it is
with a heart full of gratitude and
thanksgiving for the free gift of
payment for my sins on the cross
that makes this week so incredibly
special.

This week is also a strong reminder
that I am blessed beyond measure.

Happy.Easter.Week.
