Stitches.

Rainy days in Las Vegas can only mean one
thing . . . MORE quilting.  Susan was so
kind to come over tonight to babysit hangout
with me tonight while the boys went to a
birthday party around the block.
I was excited to almost finish this quilt top!!!
There are five quilts in the hopper that need
backs, binding, and batting!!  I need to get
on that!!!
Before quilting time, the boys and I were
busy working in the shed and garage.  We
conquered several large chores including
putting a blanket on our hot water heater,
tidying up the shed, tidying up the garage,
and cleaning out shelves and two file cabinets!
. . . just more blessings to count as I
get ready to put my head on the pillow!!!

done it again . . .
FIVE yummy yards of fabric . . . I already
have big ideas for this dreamy yardage.
So grateful for our many blessings, especially
my sweet family and friends who are so
kind to call, text, pray, check up, and keep
encouraging us!!!!  You are one.very.special
group!!  I love you all dearly!!!  It SURE
isn't easy, but with supporters like you guys
and the Lord on our side we are so
incredibly blessed.

Therapy . . . Jilly Style.

Three quilts are in the hopper . . .
quilting is THE best therapy next
to family and friends.  I do so love
my people, they ALWAYS know
when to call, message, email,
stop by, or send a card through
the mail. What have I ever done to
be so incredibly blessed.  Tonight
Cathy, Duane, Diane, and Anne
came to over for dinner and cards.
They.are.THE.bestest on the entire
planet.  Forever friends are the
greatest treasure!!!
I am excited about my new quilt
projects . . . They give me plenty of
time to reflect and pray!!!
I am grateful for friends who remind
me that it was in my old life that
planning days, weeks, and months
ahead was possible.  Concentrating
on baby steps . . .
I am so grateful for those who know
just what to say and when to say it!!
How could one of my besties know that
Wednesday night is the perfect night
for popsicles and Snickers bars . . .
I tell ya . . . when it came to friends,
my Jesus sure poured them out
abundantly to me!!!  As I navigate such
unfamiliar territory, I am grateful that
I do not have to do so alone!!!

Cozy as a Bed Bug.

And.THIS.is.why.I.make.quilts!!

Mike Update:  Today we visited
our fantabulous doc.  Mike's blood
pressure is most definitely a
concern.  Today is was 191/108.
Unfortunately, that is a very serious
side effect of adrenal gland cancer.
The tumors drive that blood
pressure up, up, up, in spite of the
fact that he is on FIVE medications
to keep it down.  Our doc
recommended that we see a
cardiologist to see if he could
work on getting the blood pressure
down.  We are going to be seeing
him on Friday.  Meanwhile, we
are continuing our clinical trial,
PRAYING continuously, and
working together each and every
moment of each and every day.

Big Ball Of . . .

Holy smoke!!  I washed tons of fabric, new
quilt tops, and quilt backs today . . .
They come out in a hot ball just like
this!!  Pretty soon, each one will be
transformed into a beautiful handmade
quilt cozy for their new owner.  In the
meantime, I have a TON of pressing,
cutting, and sewing to do!!

DISSERTATION UPDATE:  A huge big
Woot! Woot!  I mailed chapters 1-3 to
my mentor today!!  He will have his
hot little eyeballs on it for a few days
and then it should be back with minor
revisions, ready to send of to the big
university committee.  I am one
excited chick!!!

Snips, Snails, Puppy Dog Tails.

All wrapped up and somewhere to go!!!  Tim's
bestest buddy had a brand new baby boy straight
from Heaven this past weekend.  Ever anticipating
exciting new babies in our family, I was only
way too eager to whip an adorable quilt for
this blessed family's new addition.  Tim is
going to give it his final look in the morning
and then we are going to scamper over to the
post office to send this cozy quilt to this
brand new bundle and his family to enjoy for
many, many years.  I am so excited and cannot
believe that my boys' friends are having
children of their own.  Who is getting older here?

Here's to polka dots and brand new babies.

Santa's Workshop

Now that chapters 1-3 are cooking again,
I have a few moments to breathe and
catch up on CHRISTmas projects!!!
You can find me blaring my Broadway
tunes and praise music down in
the workshop.  . . . grateful for this little
respite from typing, thinking, and reading!

Husband has doc appointments the
first three days of the week, which
always keeps us hopping!  I am excited
that we have been able to continue
with the clinical trial even if my man
is more than a wee bit tired!!

Blessings for a wonderful week!!!
