Dry Socket.

Yep!  You guessed it!!  My sweet boy was
recovering so nicely and wow . . . he
developed unimaginable pain . . .
dry socket.  We met our wonderful
doctor at 10:30pm tonight at his
office.  I am praying that we all can
rest after the procedure that he
performed on our boy tonight!!!

Big Project.

Our beautiful California Pepper tree had
to come down today . . .
I was much sadder than I thought when
we looked at the blank spot in our
yard . . .
Luckily, I always have PLENTY of
willing helpers!!!
We were left with just this stump.
Luke and I have plenty of great ideas . . .
Can you guess what that might be?!?

Tweet. Tweet.

Seriously! Really?!? This is the picture
that my sweet boy put on his Twitter
page . . . Needless to say, he had about
a bazillion comments.  Holy smoke!

God has been so great!  Sam is doing
wonderfully well and we are excited
for our weekend of hanging out,
snuggling, movie watching, finishing
up our Olympics, Taco Bell runs,
chocolate chip making, and perhaps
I can squeeze in some writing.
Wisdom teeth removal certainly tugs
at the heartstrings of good old Mom!

Rite of Passage.

My sweet Sam had his wisdom
teeth out today!!  Goodness!  The ride
home was pretty rough . . . let me
just say that we will be having the
car detailed in the morning!  Other
than that, God has been merciful!  It
has been up, up, up for the past
several hours.  I haven't left his side
for more than an inch or two and
he is eating and laughing.  We are
getting ready to watch our Olympics
and a couple of flicks!!!

Thank the good Lord that I only have
one more boy to go through this
with.  These are pretty rough and
it is hard to watch them in
such pain . . . we are thankful
that he is doing so well!!

Strippin'!

Woohoo!  My new vintage CHRISTmas
fabric jellyroll strips arrived today!!  You
can just imagine the little peck on the
cheek that I gave my FEDEX guy after
he delivered this bundle of joy right
to my doorstep!!  In between my other
quilts, caring for hubs and the boys,
writing that dissertation, and caring for
our home . . . I am goin' to be strip piecing
a CHRISTmas quilt that will adorn our
home during the holidays!  CHRISTmas is
only 138 days away for those of you
who aren't counting!!!

Hubs had day one off today from our
clinical trial.  Tomorrow we will
celebrate day number two off and then
on Friday we will resume the fun
with our five days on again.  I do
so love the five on two off schedule.
It allows us to catch up on all that we
missed while Dads was sleeping.  We
are thinking that the tiredness may have
subsided a tiny bit and are praying that
next week only gets better.  We are
more than grateful that his blood
pressure is now under control, allowing
us to participate in the clinical trial.

My Little Reward.

After spending twelve hours with my
sweet husband in the chemotherapy
infusion room . . . you betcha . . .

We are excited and cannot wait for
the results.  We are having a
scan the end of this month to
check our progress!!!

Salsa Time.

Luke and I invaded Cathy's kitchen and
brought tons of tomatos, jalepenos,
Anaheim peppers, onions, cilantro, and
GARLIC with a mission of canning salsa.
 Cathy took cilantro duty . . .
Luke hooked me up to blend millions
of tomatos at once with my food
processor . . .
Yummy, yummy goodness!
Oooohlala!!  Here they are sitting on our
own kitchen counter ready to be devoured
by all of the boys!!!!

We had tons and tons of fun, plus
accomplished a BIG job!!!
