Cookie Baking Day.

Halloween Week only means one thing
around our home: TREATS!!
Keeping with yearly tradition, the Halloween
cookie cutters came out of the drawer today
for the annual Halloween Cookie Baking Day!
Boys, no matter their age, LOVE sugar
cookies . . . any.shape.any.size.

Popcorn Ball Day!

It's Popcorn Ball Day . . .
For as long as my family can remember, my
Gram ALWAYS made popcorn balls for
Halloween.  Like her, I love to cook, bake,
and sew.  It is so much fun to carry on
traditions!!!
These puppies are made with a ton
of love and a TON of butter . . .

Boys have already stolen enjoyed MANY
popcorn balls before we had a chance to
snap the picture!!!

Happy Popcorn Ball Day!!!

Goblins and Spiders and Pumpkins! Oh, my!

I am definitely a lover of ALL things
fall and Halloween is certainly one
of them.  To ring in October . . .
We are gettin' our Halloween on!!!
The countdown to candy begins with
candy, candy, and more candy!!!
We had so much fun unpacking the
Halloween decorations this year!!!!
It was fun putting them out with the
boys . . . having stashes of candy
helps move the unstacking, opening,
and restacking process move right
along MUCH faster!!!
October 1 gets me in the mood for a
VERY SPECIAL day on October 2!!!!
My jack-o-lantern is one of my very
favorite fall decorations!!!  He has a
coveted place on the dining room table
until the CHRISTmas decorations make
their debut!!
This reminds me . . . I need to make
teeth cleaning appointments for our
boys tomorrow!!!!

Happy Halloween Decorating Day!
(October 1 is the official day, you know!)

Halloweeny.

You must be on the very edge of your
seat . . . I am almost done with this puppy!
Hopefully next Tuesday I can reveal one
of the projects that I have been working
on.  Hint: It is for Halloween!!
I don't know why I love Halloween so very
much . . . but I am getting excited about
all of the fun seasons and holidays coming
up!!!

MIKE UPDATE:  We continue to pray every
day over Mike's clinical trial medication.
He is on a five days on, two days off cycle.
We are grateful that he is able to participate
in the study.  Our recent PET/CT scan
revealed that our Dad has very large
tumors that have metastasized to other
parts in his body.  God is in control and
we know that He can perform a miracle.
We still fight our blood pressure and the
reality of this whole ordeal.  We wonder
why God chose Mike, but he did.  We
are ever so grateful for our wonderful
family and friends: our support group team!
I do not know where we would be
without prayer and hope!!

Another Hint.

Can you guess?!?  Here is another hint at
what is nagging at me over on my craft
table!!!  I can hardly wait to get to it and
whip everything together for a final
reveal . . . any clues?!?

This past week has been a total
whirlwind!  To begin, we were excited
to have a three day weekend with our
little Labor Day treat on Monday.
Tuesday we hung out at the doc's
office with our school supplies
practically the.entire.day.
Wednesday my sweet student was
one.sick.dude, however, we
persevered and had a marvelous
school day.  Today was really our
first "normal" day of the week.

Personally, I have been typing almost
continuously since Tuesday.  I am
working diligently to submit
chapters 1-3 to my mentor in order
that they may obtain final approval
from my committee.  Upon their
approval, their is a whole new group
of hoops . . . I have typed 38 hours
in the past two days!!! Coupled with
typing, I have worried about my
sweet husband.  Worry is not really the
word that I would put on it, but it
truly is the strangest feeling that I
have ever had in my body.  It truly
hits me the moment that my eyes
open in the morning.  I have NEVER
experienced ANYTHING like.it.
before and pray that you NEVER
have to know what this is like.
That said, our family has so much
love and support . . . without that,
I fear to say just where I would be.
Anyhow, we do know how much the
good Lord loves us and count on
the fact, as He says in Joshua, "He
will NEVER leave us or forsake
us" . . . I am bettin' on that!!!

Something Orange.

Can you guess what this will be?!?
Hint, hint: Think Halloween.
Finished pictures coming soon!!!

To me September means skipping
right to the holidays.  I am all about
Halloween, Thanksgiving, and
CHRISTmas.  We have a few
birthdays in between and are all
getting excited about the upcoming
seasons.

"And we know that in ALL things God
works for the good of those who love
Him, who have been called according
to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
