So Long, Old Friend.

Last night, way before we were ready,

we had to say goodbye to our dog Oscar.

He was such a great companion

to all of us and was especially good

to the boys as they were growing up!!

We miss the days that he used to chase

that huge metal bowl all around the

backyard. We already miss him so much,

but are thankful that he was part of

our family for so many years.

Action is a good thing!! More walls are

being put up all the time at our new

home!! It is so exciting!!! The rooms

are really coming together and we can

see where everything is going to go!

Oh, me . . . oh, my! Yes, there was ACTION

at 2485 Mountain Spirit Court today!

Our walls started going up!!!

It is so fun to watch them start putting

up walls, the house really starts to

come to life after weeks of concrete,

and plumbing, and heating, and all

of the other underground boring stuff!

It seems like you look at the plans

forever and try to imagine how everything

will look . . .

When the walls are up, it takes a little

while to get the true picture of how

the drawings actually come to life!!!

I am actually already in LOVE with my

bea-uuuu--tiful windows and view

from my kitchen sink, where I spend

a large percentage of my life!!!

My lovely island is going to face this way

and my awesome wood dining room

table is going to go right in front

of this window.

I love these pine trees, it is the reason

that we picked this building lot. This

window is going to frame the pine

trees like a picture. I was thanking

Jesus for the view already!!!

Pretty exciting to see our great room

come to life!! The boys have a great

room upstairs also, but I am excited

for great family times in this great room!!

(The kids are excited to have friends and

parties in this room also!!!)

Garages, garages, garages . . . yep, there

are plenty of those!!! We cannot wait

to start parking in a garage again!!

No more scraping snow off of windows

and doors that are frozen shut in the

mornings!! No more sticking our heads

out of the car to drive!!!

. . . gotta love a crane. Gotta love action!

McQueen Takes First in Regionals!

On to state!!!!

McQueen was the only team

to break 800! Regionals was

a two-day tournament in

Dayton, Nevada. McQueen

was the total underdog and

took FIRST PLACE in Regionals!

The first day of the tournament it

was 49* and included every weather

element: snow, rain, sleet, and hail.

Congratulations!!!!

Next.week.state.

Lucky, Lucky Girl!!!

Everyone understands when a girl begins

a PhD internship, a plethora of new

dresses are in order . . .

No one lives up to the tasks better

than my Mom!!!!

Internship dresses, no problem!

It was just like waving a magic wand

and they appeared. Each one cuter

than the next. I could barely sleep

last night dreaming of which one to

wear for my Tuesday debut.

Thanks bunches, Mom!! I am the luckiest!!!!

I will look like a principal-in-waiting today!!!

Mother's Day Weekend Continues.

Yep! They did it! Grandy and Bobby

signed on the dotted line with the

architect and things are moving right

along!! They are so excited to be

building their dream home and

are excited about their fabulous

new neighbors! The next few months

will be exciting as they make many

decisions!! We are praying all the

way and are so, so, so excited!!

Wood and fireplaces and windows . . .

oh, my!! We had so much fun

going to the lumber mill and the window

shoppe and two fireplace stores and

to meet the general contractor . . .

This is a dream come true for us and

we are so, so, so excited and

cannot wait for Grandy and Bobby

to begin their new home also!!!

We are all wood lovers . . . hickory

HAS to be my most favorite species of

wood . . . I cannot wait for you to come

and visit, their will be LOTS and LOTS

of hickory . . . and fresh baked

chocolate chip cookies!!!

massages at the spa!!!

We did miss our favorite mother . . .

Gram! But we know that she
