Our College Prepsters

We certainly miss our UNR guys around our home! Tim is an AMAZING jazz guitarist majoring in Jazz Performance!  He will graduate this summer from UNR.  We are really praying about his plans for the future . . . Several promising opportunities are opening up as the time nears for him to leave school.

Tim is taking 23 credits this semester, playing in 6 recitals, and rehearsing for his own Senior Recital which will be on May 16.  Our whole family is going to Reno for the big event.  We certainly cannot wait to see Tim perform.  He is a wonderful young man and we are so proud that he is ours!  One of Tim's specialties is making fluffy pancakes!  :0)  We miss you Tim!!

Zach is a freshman at UNR!  He is living with Tim and a couple of roommates in an apartment close to campus. Zach has a bazillion transfer credits, after attending the community college during homeschooling!

Zach is majoring in Biochemistry.  He has an interest in Mortuary Science.  We are praying which direction he should follow.  Zach is an AMAZING young man who is involved with the Campus Ministry for Christ and several bible studies.

We are really excited to see what path Zach chooses as he progresses in his college studies.  Zach loves the outdoors, including fishing and hiking.

Our home is not the same without Zach around all of the time!  We miss you Zach!

Cute Chicks!

Many thanks to Martha! We made and invited these adorable CHICKS to our Easter celebration yesterday!!!

They are simple to make!  Simply bake a batch of your very favorite white cupcakes. Let them cool on a wire rack.  Turn them upside down and frost them with your favorite buttercream recipe. Cover with frosted coconut.  Add red licorice for the comb and feet, black licorice for the eyes, and a whole almond for the beak!

My guests were peepingly happy with the dessert!

Happy RESURRECTION DAY!!!

John 20:1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw the stone already taken away from the tomb. 2 And so she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him." 3 Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they were going to the tomb. 4 And the two were running together, and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first; 5 and stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in. 6 Simon Peter therefore also came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he beheld the linen wrappings lying there, 7 and the facecloth, which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb entered then also, and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. 10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.  11 But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so as she wept she stooped and looked into the tomb;  12 and she beheld two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"  She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14 When she had said this, she turned around, and beheld Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are your seeking?"  Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you had laid Him and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him in the Hebrew "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

Have a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

Luke is a pro with the rake and tiller!!  He is a true worker!!!  Oscar, Reggie, and Tucker gave their moral support as they played inside the fence.

We planted beautiful flowers around each of the tree wells!!!  We planted carrots, radishes, and spinach in the large grow box.  Out back we planted zucchini, pumpkins, and watermelon!  We are excited to watch our big harvest come in the fall!!!!

Hoppy Easter

All I need to know!
I learned from the Easter Bunny!
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
There's no such thing as too much candy.
All work and no play can make you a basket case.
A cute tail attracts a lot of attention.
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
Some body parts should be floppy.
Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans.
Good things come in small, sugar coated packages.
The grass is always greener is someone else's basket.
To show your true colors, you have to come out of your shell.
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Is there ANYTHING cuter than a sleeping child and their puppy?  Luke and his constant companion Tucker enjoy a night's slumber.

It's a wonder they sleep so well.  Let's see, today they managed to capture two frogs, build a habitat for seven crickets, play with sticks for an hour, ride a bike up and down the street forever, use a hammer and nails to build Fort Boy Town, and conquer the hunger crisis by eating three bowls of cereal, four pancakes with syrup, sausage, two tuna sandwiches, three pieces of pita bread stuffed with yummy innards . . . All of this even before noon!

Yes!  Let's let sleeping dogs and their mate rest!!  I am certain they are dreaming about tomorrow's adventures!!
