There certainly is an empty spot in my heart this year as
we celebrate CHRISTmas. With all of the festivities and
preparations, it seems odd with my spirit not to have Gram
a big part of this time of year.
Gram took great pride in preparing big family dinners during
the holidays and wanted to make sure that everything
was perfect. Our holidays were made so special as Gram took
painstaking measures to make sure that everyone was included
and happy. From the age of 10, I have always been so excited
to help her get ready for big family celebrations and get togethers.
I miss her getting into her pajamas early and watching her programs.
I miss her daily routine of toasting a bagel early in the morning and
sharing half with Luke.
I miss her excitement as the boys made achievement and the joy
that such things brought her.
I miss her laughing at Grampa's jokes just like she had heard them for the
very first time.
Yep, there is an empty spot, for sure, this CHRISTmas!
I can hear Gram's voice in this poem.
I see the countless CHRISTmas trees
and the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending CHRISTmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many CHRISTmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the CHRISTmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is joy beyond description
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain upon your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really are not apart.
So be happy for me dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending CHRISTmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent each of you a special gift
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.
After all love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
It was always most important
in the stories that Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other,
as my Father said to do.
For I cannot count the blessings or love
He has for each of you.
So have a Merry CHRISTmas and
wipe away that tear.
Remember that I'm spending CHRISTmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
