God Always Makes it Turn Out Great!

To begin, another crazy twist in my Mike's
Mayo Clinic trip. We awoke this morning
at 3:00a.m. to Mike having chills, more
than nausea, and a fever of 104*. Luke and
I, who are quickly becoming trained
Physician's Assistants, through him in a
wheel chair and ran him over to the
Mayo Clinic emergency room, which is
directly next door to our hotel room.

Praise the Lord that we took him there
the moment that we did as he was
septic and admitted to Critical Care.
The day was very long and scary as Mike
was septic and had some pretty scary
symptoms. However, the wise docs
were right on it and begin to diagnose that
our Mike had stones in his bile duct in
his liver. They performed emergency
surgery and inserted a stint and removed
six gall stones from the bile ducts.
Now Mike's gall bladder, along with other parts
that he came here with last Tuesday,
will be removed when they do the
BIG SURGERY this next week.

We are so grateful for praying friends
and family members . . . Luke and I
could not have made it without you and
Mike covets them and knows how much
he is loved and being prayed for.
Another super positive today was that
the Apple genius did perform miracles
with my computer . . . God backed up
everything . . . it is there! I am working
like a little beaver in school and am
excited that this week will be my FINAL
week of coursework in my doctoral
program . . . I am totally praising
the Lord for my Mac up and working!

Thanks to Diane and Frank I have
my computer back! They drove
about a bazillion miles to pick up
my computer from the Apple Store!
Where in the world would I be
without my great friends?!?

Here is to a totally exhausting and
great day that we are rejoicing in yet
more miracles God has performed in
our lives.

On A Mission . . .

Holy Smoke! Last night my beloved
Mac computer started spinning the
ever-dreaded "spiral of death" and
that it was. Here we are in Phoenix,
Arizona and as usual God sends an
angel my way. Diane's mom, Joyce, lives here
in Phoenix and I asked them if they would
be able to "run" me over to the Apple
Store to have my computer fixed.

TWELVE HOURS and FIFTY miles
later . . . my Mac had to have a new
hard drive. I am so careful with my
computer, I have no idea in the world
how this happened and why it happened
THIS week . . . the LAST week of all
of my courses along with the other
balls that are juggling everywhere.

We are ALL headed back to the
Apple Store in the afternoon tomorrow
to pick up my beloved computer.
I am praying that all of my schoolwork
is safe and sound on the new hard drive
and that I will be able to put the
finishing touches on all of my papers
to hand in before the end of this week.

Thank heaven for GREAT friends and
a fun, fun day in spite of all of the
computer mess headaches.

Tick.Tock.

This is my little spot where I have spent
many of my hours the past several days.
This will also be my little post on Tuesday
when Mike has THE BIG ONE. God
has been so merciful, but it has
certainly been a very crazy couple of
days.

The very wise doctors canceled Mike's
surgery yesterday in order to reevaluate
several red flags that he had noticed
over the past several days. However,
God is bringing it all together and
the doctors are developing a plan
as we speak. This has certainly been
a lesson in patience, humility, and
understanding what is truly
important. It is crazy that we are in
the midst of building a new house,
leaving for a residency next week,
brand new school year . . .

Mike's Big Day.

Number 1: Look at those big paws!! My goodness!!
Today is Mike's big surgery day!! Our family
could not be more grateful for the outpouring
of support and care during this time. He
has an unwavering faith and knows that God
will most certainly take the best of care
of him while he is in surgery and recovering.
With many emotions, we approach this day
with thanksgiving and gratefulness for such
wonderful family, friends, and the best
medical team on the planet.

Thumbs.up!

Wednesday, September 7, 2011 Temporary Digs.

This is where we have been spending ALL of our
time the past couple of days . . . Mike has had
EVERY test imaginable and is getting ready
for his surgery on Thursday morning.

We are so thankful that we have the
opportunity to come to such a wonderful
hospital! Everyone is so nice here and have
been helpful in every way imaginable.
They have also kept us super busy
with Mike's schedule . . .

Smiles.

Everything, I mean EVERYTHING
is totally wonderful at the Mayo
Clinic. From the moment you step in
the front doors, they begin catering to
you and your family. They are excited
to be of service to you and want to
assist you in ANY WAY that they can.

One of the most fun things that
happened today was that the little
waiter in the restaurant took Luke to
this special little dessert bar and showed
him how to make this really fun
dessert. Truly, it is all about the many
little things that they do to make your
stay as wonderful as they can.

Mike had a plethora of tests today, has
tests and will save his own blood tomorrow, and
has surgery on Thursday morning.
We are so excited to get the show
on the road and are so, so, so
grateful that we are here. We cannot
wait for Grandy and Bobby to arrive!!
What. a.great.support.team!!
