A Little Action.

While we are waiting for the trusses,
little jobs are getting done.

Guess what these scraps are going
to be . . . blocks for my grandkids.
Our concrete posts were poured . . .
My new office!!
Our new stairway!!
The starting of our spiral staircase!!

Are we blessed beyond measure or what!!!

Yellow Cap.

Luke just joined the Junior Golf program at
Somersett. Congratulations on
receiving his "yellow cap". He was out
practicing and is not the move to
"red cap" and then the coveted
"gold cap".
Luke and Sam went out and played
today . . . gorgeous weather. He
says that he is hitting the links
right after breakfast with Mike and Sam!

New Late Night Fave.

You know that I go in phases with
my late night snacks!! Lately, I have
been getting in bed with a huge loaf of
sour dough bread, the toaster, and
a huge jar of Smucker's strawberry jam!
Let me assure you, there is no
better late night snack!!! I am
definitely going to have to shape
up my act when we move into
our new home . . . I truly cannot
believe that I have the toaster by
the bed, ready to satisfy my late
night snack cravings . . .

Halt in the Action.

Part of the joys of building are the little
delays that come along the way!?!
Our electrician was to arrive on Wednesday
from Las Vegas in order to wire our
house, Mike was taking off to get all of the
electrical done, and all hands were on deck.

Due to a little snaffoo, our trusses will
not be done until next Tuesday. Our
electrician will not be able to come until
then and we had to push everything
a week. Now, you know that I love action.
This was *not* pleasant news . . .
However, I keep looking at the BIG
picture and am sooo excited.

So, NO action until Tuesday!

The Squeeze.

For Mother's Day, Mike and the boys
gave me a gift certificate to this really
trendy breakfast restaurant that is
famous in Lake Tahoe and Reno!
"Squeeze In". This restaurant has the
best breakfasts and has even been
on a Throwdown Challenge with
Bobby Flay on the Food Network.
The menu is amazing and boasts a
bazillion choices. Of course, one of
my little darlings had to order #28,
"Dirty Dick". I however, opted for the
"Veggie Vigor" which was totally
awesome in its own right.
The atmosphere is totally "rad" . . .
hippie, 60's, nothing matches, items
hanging from the ceiling! Totally fun!!!
It truly takes FOREVER to decide what
to order from the pages and pages . . .
. . . of choices on the menu!!!
If you ever are trying to decide
what to get me for a little
momento . . . it is Squeeze
gift certificates for me!!!

After you use your gift certificate,
they recycle it. (Hip, I know.)

Experiences.

Over the past couple of days, we have
certainly had time to reflect on our
experiences, heartache, and triumphs.
We have been telling the boys that there
are certain people, animals, and experiences
that we will NEVER forget and it is all
part of the tapestry.

Experiences are the best instructors and
we have been to the school of hard knocks
the past couple of days. We have all
grown through the experience and I
can tell the boys have gained much
through it.

Growing up=difficult at times for sure.

So Long, Old Friend.

Last night, way before we were ready,
we had to say goodbye to our dog Oscar.
He was such a great companion
to all of us and was especially good
to the boys as they were growing up!!
We miss the days that he used to chase
that huge metal bowl all around the
backyard. We already miss him so much,
but are thankful that he was part of
our family for so many years.

Oscar.you.WILL.be.missed.
