Thanks Mom!

A girl really has a dilemma when all

of her purses are packed!!! With

spring just around the corner here in

Reno and summer on its way, I could

no longer be seen with my BLACK

purse! Holy Cow!!!

Once again . . . it's Mom to the rescue and

how completely perfect to compliment

my internship wardrobe. I hope I can

sleep tonight!! I can hardly wait to hit

the bricks with my new little spring

bag!!!

(I know you GUYS get it!!)

Sam had another amazing year on

the golf team. He is pictured here with

his coaches Rick and Stuart.

Sam earned 'Rookie of the Year' and

'Northern Nevada AAA All-League

2nd Team'. Sam had so much fun with

all of the golf team this year, played

great golf and made some really

good friends.

Congrats!

Seriously . . .

Keeping with the theme . . .

We have been seriously fighting the

weather. In the past week we have

experienced rain, hail, snow, fog, and

wind like you cannot believe. Yesterday

when we were putting up the trusses, it

was only 45mph winds. Today, our men

were blown off the job with 70mph

plus winds. It has really been something

else trying to get a roof on this joint!!

As soon as we get the roof on, we are

smooth sailing . . .

(So they tell me!!!)

Flying the Trusses.

Wind and raindrops could not stop

our men as they were determined

to get a large portion of our

trusses as least stacked on our roof.

The crane was up at our new home

for 8 hours flying the trusses.

I seriously do not know how those

guys run around like little billy goats

up on the roof of the house without

even thinking about it.

I was just trying to take a picture from

our new stairway and I almost blew

over. Yet they were grabbing trusses

from the crane, hammering, and

working up there like it was not a

big deal at all.

It is going to be fun over the next

couple of days to see our new home

come to life with as more and more

of the trusses are stood up.

We are sooo excited! The view from my

new 'office' is absolutely amazing . . .

looks like a great place to write a

dissertation to me!!!

Cabins in the Hills.

Oooh la la!!! During the snowy weekend,

I was able to finish the "Cabins in the

Hills" quilt top! I just love, love, love, it!!!

Each of the little red squares represents

the traditional "fireplace" in all

log cabin quilts.

Anyway I look at it . . . I just am so

excited to put the backing, batting, and

binding on it.

Snow?!?

We are like the children in the Dr. Suess

book Cat in the Hat . . . "The sun did not

shine. It was too wet to play. So we sat

in the house all that cold, cold wet day." We

are so waiting for good weather so that

we can get the show on the road . . .

Goodness! The boys are grumbling as

they cannot get to the golf course either!!

Epic Fail.

Do you see these trusses? They are STILL

sitting here, there, and EVERYWHERE!!!

Chilling CHRISTmas weather will not

let up and the wind and has been irreconcilable!

The crane was here, ready, and waiting

wanting so much to put those puppies on

our new roof, but it just was not possible.

Looking at the weather, it is going to be

horrendous and shows no signs of letting

up until the week after next. We have

scheduled our electrician from Las Vegas

multiple times over the past several

weeks . . . It does not look like he is coming

next week either!! Is someone testing

my patience?
